Keeler Brass Company | Luxury Cabinet Hardware

Anthology Configurator
Background
Belwith Keeler Décor Solutions (BKDS) strategized a plan for enhancing their user base by reviving the Keeler Brass Company (KBC) name; a timeless brand built on in-house design, quality, and craftsmanship. The Keeler Brass Company relaunched anew and strived to attract high-end showrooms and designers with their solid brass, American-made hardware offerings.
KBC’s first hardware launch focused around the idea of personalization; personalization in every aspect of the home. The Anthology Series was quickly brought into existence and was rooted in a variety of different hardware components. With multiple post options, multiple bar options, up to 8 different pull sizes, and 9 different finishes, the series was capable of providing over 30,000 unique hardware combinations. The question then became, how could we sell our target audience on a series with thousands of different combinations?

Luxurious Leather Finishes
I collaborated with the product design team, developers, and a third-party that specializes in 3D design to perfect the appearance of the six leather finishes.
I worked through a variety of A/B tests with my internal team to test out the detail, texture, and color of the rendered leather.
Version 4.0
Hardware Suite Creation
We strategically implemented a feature that would enable our customers to create a suite of all 11 hardware pieces based on their specifications of one design.
Product Tear Sheets
After strategizing with the sales team, I designed a series of tear sheets for each product type.

Competing for “Brand with the Biggest Bite” Title at DesignBites
The Anthology Configurator made a significant impact in the decorative cabinet hardware industry, earning a place in the DesignBites innovative product showdown at KBIS 2024.
Presented by KBC’s Creative Director, Knikki Grantham, it competed for the title "Brand with the Biggest Bite.” iPad’s were passed into the audience as a means to interact with the configurator tool first hand.
Simplifying the Data through Component Breakdown
I simplified the configuration process into manageable steps using a few renderings from our Product Design team. This was crucial in establishing a user-friendly flow for component selection.
Step One
Choose a Post/Base
4 different styles for Appliance Pulls, Bar Pulls, and T-Knobs and 3 different base styles for Round Knobs.
Step Two
Choose a Bar/Top
5 different styles for all 5 product types; Appliance Pulls, Bar Pulls, T-Knobs, Offset T-Knobs, and Round Knobs.
Step Three
Choose Finishes
9 different metal finishes, applicable for all product styles, and 6 different leather finishes for select styles.
2D Beta Version
Prototyping the 2D User Flow
I was given the objective to prepare a full, simplified 2D prototype to launch at our trade show (KBIS), with a tight deadline of 1-2 months.
Creating a clickable prototype showcasing micro-interactions was critical for presenting my initial design to the stakeholders and developers.
Beta Version to Alpha Version
3D User Interface
I implemented direct customer feedback from the sales team and refined the UI/UX for the next version of the configurator.
Similar to other best practices in the world of configurator’s, I implemented a more detailed navigation showing the customer exactly where they were at each step of the way.
Alpha to Version 3.0
Refinements & More Features
With direct feedback from the sales team, I implemented feedback and prototyped the next version of the configurator.
The refined user flow included more categorization for the options by utilizing drop downs and a separate repository for a multitude of designs.
